About MeI have been working in and around libraries for over 30 years, and in that time I have learned a lot about what kids like to read, why they read and how they read.
This website is a way for me to finally organise some of that knowledge and also to explore it with you, the visitor. Thanks for dropping by - make sure you come back from time to time to see if there is anything new. If you don't want to miss anything, subscribe to updates! |
Who I Am |
I am Head of Library at an independent school in the south eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Australia. Passionate about children 's literature, and especially Australian children's literature, the best part of my job is connecting students with the right book at the right time. I am currently studying a Graduate Diploma in Children's Literature online via Deakin University, and this is giving me deeper insights into narrative, analysis and construction of fiction. Hopefully this will take my professional development to the "next level" and perhaps even to authorship myself.
Developing digital stories and collaborative story opportunities for students is something I am exploring, as well as constructing mechanisms that allow my students to have an active role in collection development. These are only in the concept stages now, but this website might ease me towards the first concrete steps in those goals. |
